On 9th of September Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Lithuania Liu Zengwen with his wife Yao Xiaofen and Economic and Trade Attaché of Embassy Zhao Qiuyan with the First Secretary Din Tao first time were visiting Marijampolė. Meeting with diplomats, Marijampolė free economic zone “Baltic FEZ” directing managers and Marijampolė business people led to discover new ways for attracting foreign investments and strengthen the relationships with giant China’s trading market.
Diplomats of China were particularly interested in development plans for the region. Guests were introduced with the business potential and further collaboration actions related with free economic zone “Baltic FEZ”.
According the CEO of “Baltic FEZ” Simonas Petrulis, China diplomats see Marijampolė as extremely engaging place for investments due to favorable geographical location. “Next to Marijampolė free economic zone is highway “VIA Baltica” and in coming years will be fetched “Rail Baltica” railway. Another appealing subject for investors is industrial sectors development level and overall business perspectives” – says S. Petrulis.
During the official welcoming L. Zengwen remarked that Marijampolė has strongly-developed agriculture and can offer perspective solutions to industry enhancement. Expanded “Baltic FEZ” activities will open new possibilities for establishing economically beneficial relationship with one of the world’s biggest and fast growing markets – China.
