Local labor market
The population of the working-age in Marijampolė district (70 km radius) is 138 697 of which 13 327 are university and college students. The region is characterized by a high level of education of the labour force, especially in the technical sciences and technology. As much as 28% of students from the region study technical professions! It also trains technologists, builders, agricultural specialists.
The number of graduates of Marijampolė College and Vocational Training Centre is more than 1 000 in different areas every year. Marijampolė College prepares specialists for business, agriculture and engineering industries.
Although the labour market in Marijampolė has many gifted and talented people, labour supply is not sufficient. Therefore, the average wage in Marijampolė is one of the lowest in Lithuania – 786,7 EUR/month. (2019).
